Plants vs. Zombies coming to consoles?

Maybe. For those not familiar with this game, it’s a unique take on the standard tower defense genre where hordes of zombies are held at bay by… plants. Hence, Plants vs. Zombies. Interesting, addictive, and amusing. Compared to the other titles from Popcap that have struck it big and have been released on consoles in some form or another, such as Peggle or Bejeweled, PvZ is very different, but it has become something of a success, and Garth Choteau, Popcap’s PR director, said in an interview with Kombo that the possibility has infact crossed their minds too.

We have multiple titles in the works for DSi, Xbox, PSN and we’re starting to work on Wii games. So, we’ll get there; but it is a little far from our real comfort zone. We’re still experimenting, you know, getting a lay of the land, and figuring out how best to adapt our games…”

Personally I believe that it would be a hit on the iPhone, but no mention of it from Mr. Choteau.
